At XPLOR, we take your privacy seriously. Below, we list the data collected while you use our services and why. This policy applies to all XPLOR apps, websites, and services.
When you sign up for an XPLOR account, we collect your name (first, last) and email address. We use this information to send you personalized emails, greetings, and only display your name on your profile if you allow us to.
As you use XPLOR, you may submit user generated content (things you've written). This data is stored to share with users or the public depending on what you allow. Additionally, we collect analytics like how often you view a post or like content to improve our app. These analytics are not tied directly to your account except in situations like "liking a post" so we can share your like with other users. We use analytics to see if certain features need improvement or should have priority focus.
We do not share personally identifiable geolocation data without your explicit permission.
XPLOR logs IP address to help prevent fraud, spam, and abuse. Some features of XPLOR may require you to enable location services like campus-only posts and maps. If you are on campus, your location will be stored anonymously to enable maps features. For example, we aggregate locations to see how busy an on-campus building may be at different times. If you are off campus, your location will never be stored. If you decide to enable a location on a post you create, we will store it to show other users.
To provide the products or services you've requested. XPLOR shares your information with other users like posts you make or reviews you submit. XPLOR may use third-party processors to help provide additional services. For example, we use Stripe to enable payments.
For support. An XPLOR representative may access your information if you request support from us in order to assist you with your request.
To investigate, prevent, or take action against abuse/policy violations. Your information may be accessed if we suspect abuse has occurred.
When legally required to do so. Unless compelled to do so or in certain emergency situations, XPLOR does not share data with law enforcement. XPLOR is located in the United States and is required to comply with preservation requests, warrants, subpoenas, and court orders.
All data is encrypted with SSL/TLS when in transit between your device and our servers. Most data is not encrypted in our database so that it can be accessible for other users when you choose to do so.
If you choose to delete your XPLOR account, it will take 60 days before it is purged for security and recovery reasons. This will include your full name and email address. Posts you publicly made may still be accessible by other users, however, any information your account held like name and email will no longer be shared.
Our first parties services serve and store data from the United States.
